This one hasn't been discussed much. It was a quickie profile at the end of the Marlene Santana segment.
http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/...ristopher.html The family believes a woman by the name of Emma Bradshaw is responsible. She had attempted to call Christopher's father multiple times the night of his disappearance, up until midnight. According to the Abeyta family's site, she had previoulsy stalked and harrassed a man who had broken up with her and threatened his children (Christopher's father had recently ended his affair with this woman). She has also spent time in mental institutions and a history of break-ins. It is known that the Abeyta family had received a lot of hang-up calls prior to the abduction. They stopped the day of Christopher's disapperance, but resumed some time aftewards. Christopher's grandparents also received lots of hang-up calls. If the site is to be believed, it certainly sounds like this Emma Bradshaw is repsonsible. The site says she is close friends with the county sheriff. The Colorado Springs Police Department has destroyed most of the evidence of this case. It certainly sounds like the sheriff is covering for her. http://www.findchristopher.com/investigativefacts.html I had always figured that like Christopher was taken by someone who wanted to raise a child, but now knowing that he was likely taken by Emma who had a history of threatening children, I sadly think he is probably deceased. It would certainly be a travesty if he was killed because she wanted to get revenge on the father. |

I have seen Christopher's page on The Charley Project but didn't remember his abduction being mentioned on UM. This case deserves more discussion!
It is clear from the website that the family was crazy about Christopher. Not only are there lots of home and professional photos of him, but the family also relates tender details about those photos, such as what he was laughing at or a story about what he was wearing. http://www.findchristopher.com/index.html The website acknowledges Mr. Abeyta's affair with Emma Manzanares Bradshaw. Seriously, what was he thinking?!? From this: ![]() To this: ![]() If I were Mrs. Abeyta, I would probably be in jail for torturing the mistress/alleged kidnapper to death in an effort to find my son. Given the family's obvious devotion to Christopher, I wonder if either of the parents or the siblings ever confronted her? I am not blaming the father for the disappearance. I hope Christopher is still alive and was raised by another family who did not know the true details of how he came into their possession. |

Agreed in full. Another disturbing thing I read was that Emma went to the hospital once for a suspicious knife wound while she was pregnant. One guess as to where the wound was. It was believed she tried to kill her own unborn child. She's definitely a mentally disturbed woman. She doesn't deserve those "Happy Mother's Day" balloons in that picture. Kind of looks like Bonnie Wilder if she lost 100 pounds.
