Default Marlene Santana

One of the UM cases that has disturbed me the most was the disappearance of Marlene Santana from a Brooklyn hospital in 1985. She was taken by a woman who looked like a villainous Lucille Ball. From what I've seen the case has not been solved. Where do you suppose she is today?

unfortunately, it hasn't been solved. My greatest hope is that Marlene is still alive and has lived happily and healthy. I think she probably is still alive and was raised by someone who was desperate for a child.

I always thought this story seemed a bit off. I thought nurses would always walk out with the new mother and the mother was in a wheelchair. It seemed odd to me that she just walked off and no one saw this woman kidnap the baby. I mean it’s a hospital in New York. Hospitals are usually busy outside and inside with “people traffic”.

Either way, it is a sad story and I hope Marlene is safe and was raised by a loving mother (even if it wasn’t her real mother)

interestingly, Marlene is one of the few cases on Charley Project (or UM for that matter) where there is no photograph of the person profiled.

There are two different sketches of the unstable woman with the gun and neither of them look alike.

ETA: Shouldn't there have been relatives/friends of this lady who abducted Marlene that noticed she suddenly has a baby without ever being pregnant? You would think there would be more leads on who this woman was.

Agreed with your first point. I recall having mentioned that earlier.

I always figured the abductor had a miscarriage just prior to the abduction and wanted to fill that void in her life. The woman who abducted Carlina White, who was profiled at the end of this segment, abducted Carlina after she had several miscarriages.

She couldve said she adopted the child.

I actually forgot that there was a "second" part to the Marlene Santana segment. I only remember seeing the sketch on the left (on Charley Project) on the UM segment, I don't remember seeing the other one. I'm curious where it came from, who was the witness, etc.

Charly Project never mentioned Marlene’s mother walking with relatives either. (as shown on UM). If this is true, you would think this would be included in the details.

I believe the only way this will be solved is if Marlene is still alive and begins to ask questions/investigate further.

Speaking of taken babies. Do you all remember the one were baby disappeared from a flea market? The mother took her twp year old in to use a port a bathroom leaving the baby in its carrier outside. Saying there was not room for her inside and when they came out the baby was gone.

This story is absolutely chilling...

Funny how different the two composites are. Are they from different witnesses?
I can just picture that frosted 80's middleaged woman "mom" hair.
