Default Here's Jerry's Official Website! (And A Hugh Question)

Lots of good stuff here:

http://www.jerrymathers.com/

Someone in there is a comment about Hugh's alleged Tourette Sydrome. A poster, TJMathers says that Hugh did not have Tourette Syndrome and links in the same comment to Jerry's site.

I did some research on line and some people do not recall the "Bookstore Incident" that Jerry had with Hugh at all. I wonder if this was just some Internet rumor? I do know that Hugh had a stroke in 1972.

There is very little about Hugh in post-Beaver years, so I don't know.

I thought it was so mean that this poster on another website said that life hasn't been kind to Jerry and looks like he was beaten up by the ugly stick. Hey he was a really cute actor in his day. We all get old

Agreed!

Jerry looks amazing at his age! He was cute as a kid, sharp looking as a teen, even into his adult years. Do a search on line for "Jerry Mathers", "Air Force" for images. You will see an amazing picture of him cira 1966-1968 in his uniform.

Jerry signed up for Air Force Reserves while still in high school. He never left California, nor had any active combat. But the picture of him is amazing!

The only time he looked a little awkward was when he played an obnoxious neighbor in an episode of "My Three Sons" in 1970. He grew a mustache and it just didn't match up well with his face. The scene used to be on You Tube, don't know if it still is or not. I believe the episode is called "Love Thy Neighbor" Jerry is in it for about six to ten minutes total.

Jack, I looked at the references you spoke of. "christie" asked about "turret syndrome" and "tjmathers" responds "No, he did not get turrets syndrome."

I'd never read these responses till you pointed them out. It sure does look like it is Jerry answering the Tourette's question because he calls his website his. He goes by The Jerry Mathers on his Twitter account, so that could explain his tjmathers. I think we can for sure say it's Jerry when he responds to Eliot Koop's question as "jerry mathers". I'm spelling turret and leaving proper names uncapitalized as I found them on the site.

In the thread, 'Are there any pictures of Hugh Beaumont in later years?', I voiced my opinion about the Tourette's issue in entry #27. The facts surrounding Hugh's suffering from Tourette's are inconclusive and even more so with this latest revelation.

Jerry describes meeting Hugh at a grocery store on pages 163-164 of his 1998 book. He says it happened "not too long before" Hugh died, so Hugh had had his stroke. Jerry actually uses the words Tourette's Syndrome" in his retelling. I think this is where the Tourette's story began to be spun and some Internet sources picked it up.

I continue to feel it is just as likely---if not more likely the verbal outburst was as a result of the stroke. The behavior could have been interpreted as Tourette's. There just isn't any other significant source I have found saying Hugh had Tourette's except Jerry's book and now he apparently says no.

I feel it is an invasion of Hugh's private life, and on the internet, lies become facts.
Lot of people always want to tear down "Ward Cleaver" because of course, no one's father could be as good as Ward and there is lots of jealousy.

It appears Hugh also put his family first, which is sort of unheard of for Hollywood people.

As if Hugh wouldn't be allowed to have said a curse word outloud or something. In real life there are no censors.

Why tear Hugh/Ward down?

BTW-personally, I think Hugh would have made a Super Superman. His and George Reeves careers were very similar and both had the same sort of look.
I am sure George too uttered a bad word in real life now and then
(like when he was murdered as opposed to the phony death stories on him).
I believe George was murdered and it was covered up.
