Harry Connick Jr. Confirms Return to "American Idol" Next Season

Now that "American Idol" has been renewed for a 14th season — albeit slightly adjusted — fans want to know what next year’s judges’ panel is going to look like. Well for now, we can at least tell you it will have a bit of a crooner edge.

Harry Connick Jr. officially confirmed his return to the show during a visit to "Live! with Kelly and Michael" Wednesday. When asked about his status for next season, Connick replied, “I’ll be back.”

I can't stand American Idol but I do love Harry and he's a great asset to the show (or any show!)

It's Official! All Three Judges and Ryan Seacrest Return to "American Idol"

Fox made it official Monday, confirming that Season 14 of "American Idol" will welcome back all of its familiar faces. Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick, Jr. and Keith Urban will once again man the judges' table for the singing competition, marking the second consecutive season the trio will serve as arbiters.

It will be Lopez's fourth season as judge (she took Season 12 off), Urban's third straight season as a judge, and Connick, Jr.'s second. News of the trio's return has been circulating since early May.

Fox also announced that Ryan Seacrest will once again host "American Idol", as he has for the show's entire run. In early May, word leaked that Seacrest signed a deal to return to the show.

"I am thrilled our consummate host, Mr. Ryan Seacrest, is returning for Season 14, together with Jennifer, Harry and Keith," creator Simon Fuller said in a statement. "Their interaction, warmth and experience made them an absolute joy to watch. I can't wait to see their evolution together continue next season."

UGH! Terribly edited reality show now! Completely took out any viewer pleasure in watching the early auditions. I now watch "The Voice" exclusively! It presents the auditions in funny and pleasure fashion. In Idol; all the singers that you know will go further on; get much more time in the backgrounds and after the golden ticket get additional coverage. You never see the bad singers full auditions either. Just too much edited to have viewer interest in the show! Totally unwatchable!
