Oh No One and done for Cavs Coach Mike Brown!

Quote:
SportingNews.com

The Cleveland Cavaliers have fired Mike Brown from his position as head coach, the team announced on Monday.

This marks the third time Brown has been fired in the last four years and second time the Cavaliers have relieved him of his duties. The Lakers also fired Brown five games into his second season with the team.

When Brown returned to Cleveland, there were smiles all around, from Brown himself and team owner Dan Gilbert. They talked about how this time their journey together would be different from the previous stint, which ended with Brown being fired and LeBron James bolting for Miami.

That honeymoon was short-lived, as Brown was fired after only one season. Gilbert said it was a tough decision to fire Brown — again.

“This is a very tough business," Gilbert said. "It pains all of us here that we needed to make the difficult decision of releasing Mike Brown. Mike worked hard over this last season to move our team in the right direction.

"Although, there was some progress from our finish over the few prior seasons, we believe we need to head in a different direction. We wish Mike and his family nothing but the best."

The Cavaliers also announced that David Griffin, who worked in an interim role last season, will now function as the team's general manager. Griffin's first official decision came when the team let go of Brown.

"There is no harder working or better human being in our league than Mike,” Griffin added. "This was not an easy decision. We thank Mike for his efforts and wish him, his wife Carolyn, and their family only the best.”

When the Cavaliers did not meet expectations this year, Brown was put on the chopping block with several coaches who were expected to be released at the end of the year.

The Cavaliers finished the season at 33-49, which was well shy of the postseason expectations the team entered the season with. A failed experiment with Andrew Bynum and tough year for Kyrie Irving equaled the end of those thoughts.

Irving had good numbers, but found it hard to raise teammates to his own level of excellence. That spelled the end for the Cavaliers and Brown, who was unable to solve the Cavaliers' problems.

Brown served as head coach for the Cavaliers between 2005-10 prior to this most recent tenure. He finished with a 305-187 overall record with the Cavaliers.
Okay...what the hell is in the Cleveland Waters? Lead? AIDS? It seems that Cleveland has a One and Done deal with (almost) ALL of our teams!

F*ck Dan Gilbert and the general manager for firing Mike. Their dumb asses gotta pay him for 4 years that were left on his contract. So i'm sure Mike is laughing at them because he's getting free money for 4 years hahahahahahahahahahahaha. There was no way Mike was gonna turn the Cavs into a winning team in one year. You gotta give him some time damn. No bad team can become a winning team overnight. It takes several years for a bad team to become a winning team. Washington Wizards is a perfect example of what i'm talking about because they were a bad team for several years and now look at them. They made the playoffs this year because they hadn't been to the playoffs in a long time and they made it to the second round and nobody expected that. Randy Wittman was coaching them when they were a bad team and management decided to stick with him. The Lakers are dumb for firing Mike also. I bet Kobe Bryant's b*tch ass probably went to management to complain about him and Kobe was still getting his 20+points a game. So why would he complain? Whoever Cleveland gets next to coach them whether it's a black guy or a white guy, they aren't gonna do any better than Mike.

I was surprised they fired Byron Scott when he coached Cleveland because he's a good coach. He had success with New Jersey and New Orleans.

I wonder who will be the next coach for the can'ts?

Would Mark Price be interested?

Good choice MrCleveland. Mark Price would be a excellent choice since he played for Cleveland. Jason Kidd had never coached a team before until the Nets hired him and the same thing goes for Steve Kerr and Mark Jackson. So why not give Mark Price a shot at coaching? Mark is a shooting coach I think with Charlotte Bobcats because I saw him sitting behind their bench during the playoffs this year when they played Miami.
