During Antenna TVs mother's day marathon, I watched a season 5 episode titled "a car called chrysanthanam" and it was a really cute episode. That 1930 model Ford sure did look nice at the end of the show. And Hazel's 1959 Plymouth convertible was neat. Glad she got a convertible.
Even though I don't believe Ford still sponsored Hazel during season 5, it's interesting to note that The Baxters still drive new 1965 Fords during this season. |

One thing that's bothered me about that episode. Why would Hazel have ever bought such a rusted out piece of crap like that beat up car in the first place? And then to compound the illogic of it all, after she completely gets it restored to such a beautiful condition, why would she then turn around & get rid of it again and then not make a penny off the deal.
First of all, someone in Hazel's place would have bought a car that was already in good working condition and not a 50 year old piece of junk. And after getting it totally restored she should have kept it, since she supposedly loved it so much that she even bought it when it was still a junkpile. |
