So far, 3 of the 4 major networks have stepped up to present their fall lineups and, for the most part, at least sitcom-wise, they are simply awful!!!
  If you're looking for a big winner out of all the networks, I would say CBS by default and their turn is still to come. I doubt they'll try to make many changes, but if they do, can anything other than "How I Met Your Dad" possibly be as bad as what's been out there so far? If they really wanted to, they could add a new version of "The Three Stooges" co-starring Carrot Top, Gilbert Gottfried, and Cedric The Entertainer (with Weird Al Yankovic as Shemp) and it would still draw higher ratings than any new sitcom that their competition has put out. I feel sorry for our Canadian networks who have arrived at this week's US upfronts with high hopes and fat wallets to see how well the import market shapes up and what new series they'll be looking to add to their own networks this fall. Can you imagine what a typical conversation might sound like? How about something like this:Bored CTV executive: So what looks good to you out there? What would like to buy? "Cristela" or "Bad Judge". Global programming head: Well, I don't know. Right now, I'm feeling a little "Black-ish". If they're a little confused right now, the viewers must be horrified. As for my own fall schedule, I'll just follow CBS's lead and wait it out for now. |

None of the new shows grab me much, the one I'm looking forward to most is Galavant.
listed in order of priority Sunday Once Upon a Time Resurrection Galavant Madam Secretary-don't care for the actual concept much but will check it out because of Bebe Neuwirth and Tim Daly I was considering CSI Cyber but no way with it getting the death slot. Monday Castle The Blacklist Gotham-don't expect to like this but will try it because of the boy from Touch. Tuesday NCIS dropping Person of Interest Wednesday The Middle The Goldbergs Stalker Mysteries of Laura maybe Black-ish Thursday The Blacklist Friday Blue Bloods Cristela Last Man Standing if I like Cristela Midseason The Mentalist Emerald City Battle Creek Hieroglyph Astronaut Wives Club Cable I will continue watching Murphy Brown and Night Court in the 7PM hour until the 1st cycle is finished, mostly new episodes to me. I've gone through the schedules and descriptions and honestly I'm not that impressed. For me my schedule goes like this:
Monday 8pm-WWE Monday Night Raw Tuesday 9:30pm-About a Boy Wednesday 9pm-Modern Family 9pm-Red Band Society Thursday 8pm-Thursday Night Football 8pm-Black-ish 9pm-Impact Wrestling Friday 8pm-Friday Night Smackdown Saturday 8pm-Saturday Night College Football Sunday 7pm-NFL ON FOX 8PM-The Simpsons I also plan to watch The Odd Couple and Weird Loners. Obviously, this isnt a great list for me but I just dont see anything I really like. I'm not a big drama and I was, its more on the line of Beverly Hills 90210 or Dallas. |
