Is there any way that it can be released before the end of this year or will we have to wait until February like always?

Sadly, we only (usually) get one season per year.

Let's hope the next season is unedited.

They never fixed mine. I was stuck with the edited version. I had to repurchase the unedited version. Good thing I found a discounted coupon for it. |

I've been seeing the talk here about there being two different copies of the season 4 DVD out there. I don't know which one I got. How can I find out? What should I look for?

If the episodes on your copy have a time length near 22 minutes, you'd have the syndicated version. The one with original network prints would episodes each with a time length of 22:30 to 22:54 minutes.

Another easy way to tell if they're syndicated is to go to the end of the ep during the end credits. If when the logos appear and Reginald Veljohnson says, "Family Matters is a Miller-Boyett Production, in association with Lorimar Television, and is distributed by Warner Brothers Domestic Television Distribution" then the episode is syndicated. If the logos appear and he doesn't narrate that, then they are the original broadcast versions. The episode Number One with a Bullet is syndicated on both versions, so don't go by that ep because he will narrate that at the end of that ep.
