TV Disney Channel Renews "Austin & Ally" for 4th Season

"Austin & Ally" Renewed for 4th Season
by Kimberly Roots
4/26/14

"Austin & Ally" will continue to make music together for the foreseeable future.

Disney Channel has renewed the musical comedy for a fourth season, the network announced Saturday.

The strength of this series helped make 2013 Disney Channel’s highest rated year ever among tweens, an audience that is invested in the Austin & Ally stories, and the fun they experience on a journey with the characters,” Adam Bonnett, executive vice president, original programming, Disney Channels Worldwide said in a statement.

We’re looking forward to delivering many more engaging stories soon.

I loved it for a while and then it just got too silly for me, but I still watch it. But it's really popular so I knew that it would be renewed for a fourth season. I would have been surprised if it hadn't been.

Like most Disney shows this will probably be their last season.

I think the reason they cancel after the 4th season is because all the kids are growing up and the Disney channel viewers who actually watch don't want to watch grown-ups. They want to watch kids, so they cancel and come up with a new show with more kids.

I hope Girl Meets World doesn't suffer this fate. More than kids watch and enjoy it.

They just taped the last episode earlier this week.

Evidently, the last episode is supposed to air in January 2016.

In the meantime, the cast, along with Heath Seifert and Kevin Kopelow are supposed to be at a panel and screening at the Paley Center in Los Angeles on May 4, 2015.
