During the 1980's, Studios had this disturbing trend in mind: Take vintage B&W films, and give them color.

Hideously, disgracefully bad! Thank God they don't do that anymore.

I've got a colorized version of "It's A Wonderful Life" on VHS- is that what you're talking about? It looks fine to me, personally.

I have a colorized version of the original Night Of The Living Dead, and it looks awful. Green zombies, red fire.

I remember that trend, it looked very bad on some movies.
