Possible but unlikely considering over 33 years have passed with no leads or confirmed sightings. I think he either died not long after the shooting or has since passed away from age, disease etc.

Highly, highly unlikely. He was taken off the FBI's Most Wanted List in 2007 because they had zero leads on him for years. Sadly, there will never be closure in this case.
I would not be surprised if he's been dead for at least a decade or two. They theorized he had left the United States and entered another country on an assumed name and possibly lived his remaining days there. |
