Though the new season of ABC's “The Bachelor 2014 has not yet started to air, there is sad news out on Wednesday about one of the bachelors. Contestant Eric Hill has passed away after a paragliding accident. Reality Steve shared the available details on his blog. Spoilers for “The Bachelorette” from Reality Steve indicate that Hill would have played a prominent enough role in the season with Andi Dorfman that viewers would have known who he was. It is, of course, uncertain at this point what the show will do about this tragedy. Eric Hill had already returned home from filming ABC's “The Bachelorette 2014.” Hill was in Utah over Easter weekend with friends and he ended up crashing into a mountainside while he was paragliding. He spent a few days in a coma in the hospital, and now he has passed away. Hill's sister Karen had been sharing updates on her Facebook page over the course of the past few days. Karen shared Wednesday morning that Eric was surrounded by his family when he passed away. She said that he had a bright spark and lived his life fully, and it sounds as if his family and friends have lost a true treasure. “The Bachelorette 2014” fans only knew a few tidbits about Eric Hill, but he seemed to be quite the adventurous guy who was on a quest to take in all the world had to offer. According to Reality Steve's “The Bachelorette” spoilers, Eric did have an individual date with Andi early on in the new season. In addition, he lasted long enough to do some of the traveling with the show. Hill's death is something the franchise had never needed to deal with before, so there is no knowing at this point quite how they will handle things. At this point ABC has not actually even officially released the names of the bachelors for this season. This will most certainly be a complicated decision for the show to make, as they may well face criticism regardless of whether they include Eric or decide to cut that footage. This could certainly be an opportunity to include him and celebrate his life. At the same time it may well feel too soon for Hill's family and friends to experience seeing him on the show. Even if Eric Hill ultimately is not included in the show, “The Bachelorette 2014” fans who have been following along with the spoilers send their condolences to his family and friends. Reality Steve shares that there will surely be more information soon regarding what ABC decides you about the situation. Andi Dorfman's new season premieres in May. |

The show dedicated the season to Hill, yet it was odd to see him in his interactions with Andi Dorfman knowing his fate. Read more at http://www.hitfix.com/tv-tattle#LRfC03FDVDKoZkqx.99 |
