July 21, 1954 - April 18, 2014 Sanford Jay Frank, 59, died at home in Calabasas on April 18, surrounded by his wife and daughters, following a two year battle with brain cancer. Sandy was born July 21, 1954 in Springfield, Massachusetts. He graduated from Harvard University with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and a Juris Doctor. He practiced law for a short time, and then went on to become a four-time Emmy winning television writer for shows including Late Night with David Letterman, In Living Color, and The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. In 2011, he authored his first book, "The Inner Game of Screenwriting". Aside from his professional accomplishments, Sandy was an extraordinarily kind, loving, and dedicated husband and father. He is survived by his wife Pamela Frank, daughters Priscilla, Harley, and Micaela Frank, and brother Eric Frank. A celebration of Sandy's life will be held on Sunday, April 20, at 1 pm, at Mt. Sinai in Simi Valley, 6150 Mt. Sinai Dr. Simi Valley, 93063. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Simms/Mann UCLA Center for Integrative Oncology |
