Question Roseanne's feelings about Lucille Ball

If memory serves correctly didnt Roseanne have some kind of dislike with Lucy?

I remember reading in the paper ( just before the debut of Roseanne ) how much Roseanne didnt care for Lucy ( both Lucille Ball the actress and her shows ). Infact my co-worker swears he remembers watching on tv that when Lucy was in the hospital just before she died, Roseanne was asked if she talked to her
and if she sent her a get well card. her response was "hell no".

I myself find it hard to believe but then again with so many stars with a chip on their shoulders I guess its possible.

If this is true wonder how Lucy felt about Roseanne?

Red face is true

Yes, I beleive it is true I heard it on the Today show a few days before CBS aired the I love Lucy 50th anniversary. But I think Roseanne should get over it Lucy's show was Back in the 50's and that is why Lucy always listened to Ricky. Roseanne's show was in the 90's when things were differnet.

I remember Roseanne had an arguement with barbra Billingsly when they were on the Oprah show. Barbra was on the show and Roseanne had called in, and Roseanne critcized Leave It To Beaver for being so passive, and how alienated she felt watching shows like that. So while I don't know if it is true that she didn't like Lucy it sounds as if she really didn't like any of those kind of shows.

Its true !!! Thats why I found it so strange to see Roseanne on the I Love Lucy 50th special, but not little Ricky hmmmmmmmmmmm.

This so called fued was started not in the tabolids but in the Denver press. I Believe it was the Rocky Mountain News that interviewed Roseanne just before her show debuted and it was there that she said how much she didnt like not only Lucy but many of the 50s sitcom stars. Roseanne thought Wilma Flintstone was a better actress, but wasnt Wilma a stay at home mom too?

both Lucy and Roseanne had strong ties to Colorado. Lucy at one time owned a condo in Aspin while Roseanne was at one time a waitress working at a Denver area Bennigans. When Roseanne hit it big and with Lucy's name in the news at that time due to her failing health, guess the Denver news folks thought about bringing Lucy to Roseanne.

But I cant help to believe maybe Roseanne's comments were made just to shock people. Kind of a like Jerry Lewis made recently when he said he hated Lucille Ball despite the tv appearances he made with Lucy and interviews saying he has nothing be respect for her over the years. Did Lucy come back from the dead to make Jerry mad about something hmmmmmmmmmm.

How could she not like Lucy! Lucielle Ball is considered to be one of the finest actresses of all time, I think that all people in the business have a place in their heart for Lucy and Desi, they changed television for ever...for the better!!!

If Desi didnt do I Love Lucy on film, it would have been done on kinescope ( ever seen a tv show that was filmed this way? ) many shows from the 50s, maybe 60s would be forgotten. I always believe Desi never gotten the credit he deserves.

About "stars" who dont like Lucy, Tom Bosley from Happy Days was another one I remember hearing. On radio here a local station was airing the Michael Medved ( former film critic ) and Mike Walker and both shows claim that the Lucy died in 1989 Tom Bosley was teaching an acting class ( thought he was filming Father Dowling at the time ?? ) his students asked him his comments on Lucy's death since he did co-star with her and Henry Fonda on Yours, Mine, and Ours. According to both shows he said that he was "damn glad the red headed bi*ch was dead, I hate her".

I myself have a hard time believing Bosley would say that, I may be right about that one as Mike Walker ( found out later ) is the gossip columist in the National Enquier and Medved doesnt like anything, why would he like Lucy?

Lucy helped paved the way for women in power. She was the first female head of a studio.

Roseanne was so inexplicably arrogant and entitled when she first started.

Who the Hell was she to criticize a legend like Lucille Ball? At least Lucy had talent.
