This is the third time I asked this question but no on has sent an answer. What happened to the character played by Steven Hill ??/ Did he die ? Was he defeated for re-election ? Some said he quit due to a case. What case ? Why The smartest people use this site. Come on Lets get an answer Thanks

I think Adam Schiff quit due to a case, I can't remember.

What I heard, and I don't know if this is true, is that Steven Hill was dumped by the producer as possibly not being galmorous enough or appealing to a wide audience. If it's anything like that it sucks, because he was my favorite character. He was so good at delivering those one liners like, "Quick close the door before someone walks in with a case we can win." He was good on the first few seasons of "Mission Impossible" too.

According to this web site, it was explained that Schiff left to negotiate reparations for Holocaust survivors at the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Vienna.

Steven Hill left of his own accord, from what I understand. He was 78 when he left the show three years ago and was not interested in working a full schedule anymore.
