To me it would be WWF/WWE Wrestling that has been a mainstay for years on USA Network. Also, just there cult movies and stuff. They used to air stuff nobody else aired as far as movies go. Also, I remember when they aired the US Open tennis tournament as well and believe it or not, the WLAF, the World League of American Football.

Until recently USA was one of the best networks for cable originals. The type of show they aired started with Monk, one of the best shows of all time. Then they had Psych and White Collar, and last year I started getting into Necessary Roughness. Unfortunately NR was cancelled after the 3rd season (the only one I had seen.) I had also watched Covert Affairs from the beginning. It went downhill fast in 2013 though. I dropped CA out of protest when Necessary Roughness was cancelled. Also Suits (a show I never cared to watch) started at the same time as NR but USA advertised it more and was behind it a lot more, it's still airing. Then the announcement came that Psych was ending. It was past its prime and 8 seasons is a good run, but the shows they're replacing it with look terrible. White Collar will soon be ending. I don't mind that its final season is coming but it's a slap in the face to the producers to only have the final season be 6 episodes. After White Collar is done I am likely done with USA originals. Their shows from outside studios were a lot better, when they switched to inhouse shows the quality really went down. Chrisley Knows Best, Sirens, Playing House: none of them look worth watching, and I don't think it will get any better for awhile.

In the 90's I remember it mostly for reruns of short lived shows like My Sister Sam, Uncle Buck, Just The Ten Of Us.
The Cartoon Express, reruns of Quantum Leap, late night weekend movies with Gilbert Gottfried later by Rhonda Shear. |

I also remember watching Game Shows on that station! I can understand having original shows on stations, but then it gets spread TOO thin and neglects rare gems and classic programing. I see USA being part Cartoon Network, Part Game Show Network, and Part The Hub in the 90's...and It'll NEVER come back! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

It also aired reruns of Quantum Leap for a while and though I do love that show too- the main show I remember being on the USA channel is MacGyver! I loved the USA promos for MacGyver- I still recall the jingle they had to advertise the show- "MacGyver- what's he doing with that thing?".... and after someone would be singing that, the announcer would come on saying, "Find out what he is doing with that thing on MacGyver at 4 pm weekdays..." And that channel also used to have a ton of cool game shows that I loved watching- my main favorites: Press Your Luck, Scrabble, Tic Tac Dough and Name That Song. The Joker's Wild and Hollywood Squares are great too.

Pretty much what Mace Dolex said, even though I was too young to see late night movies.
Oh yeah, and the game show reruns, too. |

In modern times, I watched USA solely to see BURN NOTICE, which ended up going on a season or so longer than it really should've. But when I think of USA Network, I think of what it was like in the early-mid 1980s:
Night Flight Commander USA's Groovie Movies USA's Saturday Nightmares THE ALFRED HITCHCOCK HOUR and DRAGNET (1960s color version, before Nick@Nite got it), late on weeknights. Re-runs of LOST IN SPACE and LAND OF THE GIANTS, weekday mornings, before Sci-Fi Channel spun off from the network and took both shows with it. Etc, etc. For me, by the early 1990s, it was already going downhill, with too much of the '80s version of ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS, SWAMP THING: THE SERIES, MURDER SHE WROTE reruns, etc. |

I give USA a lot of credit because there original shows have been great as far as ratings go. I dont watch any of them but White Collar, Psych have done very well on USA.
And yes, I remember the days when they aired Something So Right, Boston Common, Ned and Stacy and believe it or not Saved by the Bell the New Class. |
