In the 90's it was Gilligan's Island, Three Stooges shorts, rare cult late night movies, frequent airings of the extended versions of Superman III and IV and of course the all time classic The Beastmaster.

To me, my fondest memories of TBS are mostly from the 90s.
Mama's Family, Gilligan's Island, Three's Company, Family Matters, & Saved by the Bell |

TBS - Turner's Braves Suck
My fondest memory of TBS: The 1992 World Series What I hated about it: The "5 minute rule", which was that no matter what show you wanted to watch, whether it was a classic series like Andy Griffith, Gilligan's Island, or The Brady Bunch, or mindless excrement like Saved By The Bell, WCW Wrestling or Family Matters, TBS shows always started on the "fives". That is, five minutes past the hour and five minutes past the half-hour. This happened for many years and it was especially tough if you wanted to tape your shows on VHS, which was your only option in the 80s and 90s. Here's an example: TBS schedule - January 11, 1988 I don't why TBS was the only channel that would make their lineups this way but it was very frustrating to watch and to follow and I thought it was just idiotic in general. |

Braves baseball and the Andy Griffith Show. I read reading somewhere that Turner was a big Andy Griffith fan.

Comedies, Cartoons, and Movies.
Cartoons aside...TBS basically kept their station intact unlike other stations. |

I mainly remember TBS as the station that aired a lot of MLB baseball games and NBA basketball games. I do seem to recall some wrestling on the channel and I particularly enjoyed back when they used to air some good cartoons- particularly Looney Tunes. I'm thinking they had some Scooby-Doo cartoons for a while too, but I may be getting it mixed up with TNT. Anyway- the other big thing I recall is that they carried Saved By The Bell reruns for the longest time- which is awesome because I love that show.
