Don't know if this has been asked, but, when AITF taped at CBS Television City there was an announcer at the very start who, after the CBS top-of-the-hour "bong" sounded-when it was a Saturday-at-8:00 [ET] show, intoned "From Television City In Hollywood". I know it wasn't Bern Bennett or Roy Rowan. Does anyone know who it was?

Yes, that "From Television City in Hollywood" was at the beginning of all of Norman Lear shows, and most CBS TV City shows during the 1970s. The Lear shows moved to Metromedia Square around the fall of 1975. I live in LA, and remember passing that building which was located on Sunset Blvd. & the 101 freeway. They tore it down about 10 to 15 years ago to build a school. They use to have the UGLIEST piece of artwork on top of it. Some sort of zigzag thing....it looked like a crumpled up TV tower.
![]() I don't have the AITF DVDs though. Is the "From Television City in Hollywood" on the AITF DVDs? |
