Only 1 from each decade? I don't think I could do that- I love WAY too many movies for that. I can try to name a few..........

1930s: "The Wizard of Oz" and "Gone With The Wind" and all 4 "Nancy Drew" movies
1940s: "It's A Wonderful Life" (one of my favorite Christmas movies and just plain movies of all time)
1950s: "White Christmas" (another Christmas favorite) and "Peter Pan" and "Ben-Hur" and "The Ten Commandments"
1960s: "The Monkey's Uncle" and "Dr. No".....
1970s: "Star Wars" movies, "Star Trek: The Motion Picture", "Superman" movies, "The Muppet Movie", "Jesus"
1980s: "Indiana Jones" movies, "Back to the Future" movies, "Labyrinth", "The Dark Crystal", "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" (when edited), The Muppets movies, "The Goonies", tons others....
1990s: "The Mighty Ducks" movies, "The Babysitters Club", "Little Giants", "Heavyweights", "Houseguest", "Dumb and Dumber", "Beethoven" movies, "Air Bud" movies, etc. "Batman" movies (1989-1997 movies)
2000s: "Spider-Man" movies, "X-Men" movies, "Batman Begins", basically most all Marvel and DC superhero movies, "Facing the Giants", "Fireproof", "The Lord of the Rings" movies, "G.I. Joe" movies
2010s: most all Marvel and DC superhero movies, "Toy Story" movies (1995, 1999 and 2010), "The Chronicles of Narnia" movies (2000s-2010s), "The Hobbit" movies

and tons others I could name...

That Lon Chaney version of the Phantom had the scariest makeup of all horror movies and that was almost 90 years ago.

Charles, that is a great list you have there. And I think Rope, at the time, had quite possibly the best camerawork in a film.

Anyways, my picks

1930's: The Wizard of Oz
1940's: Song of the South
1950's: Lady and the Tramp
1960's: A Hard Day's Night
1970's: Rocky
1980's: Back to the Future
1990's: Toy Story
2000's: Slumdog Millionaire
2010's: Toy Story 3

I haven't seen any movie from the 30's, 40's, or 50's and the ones from the 60's I've seen have been Psycho and Batman The Movie.

But like others have posted there are just way too many to list but here goes:
1980's - Batman
1990's - Face/Off
2000's - The Dark Knight
2010's - The Dark Knight Rises (as of now)

I have to say that THE BIG CHILL is probably the best movie of the 1980's.
