TV Watching Gilligan's Island... The Gilligan Way

My daughter and I love watching the show and she is watching it for the first time. We have the entire DVD collection. We are working our way through season 2 now.

I told her that when we finished the series, we will watch Rescue from Gilligan's Island and we will do it while eating a coconut cream pie!!! She loves the idea.

Her 10 yr. birthday is just around the corner. I ordered an autographed 8 x 10 of Dawn Wells. It arrived last week. She signed it to my daughter. I can't wait to give it to her framed on her birthday.

Did you ask Dawn to bake a coconut cream pie for you?

I showed my daughter most of the shows I loved as a kid when she was younger, many she didn't like, but she did like Gilligan's Island and Leave It To Beaver so I'm happy. Of course now that she's a teen I'm not sure what she feels about them.

What an excellent idea. My 10yr old daughter and I also enjoy watching GI together. When I mentioned your idea, she loved it. Since this past week was spring break, we decided to use one day for a GI and coconut cream pie marathon. Thanks for the suggestion.

Great idea indeed ! Both of my kids were brought up watching Gilligan with me - starting @ 8-10 years old. They are 25 and 22 now, and they still love GI. My son was singing the G-I-double L-I..... diddy the other day from the episode wherein Gilligan dreams he's the leader of "his country". I was proud !!!

Here I am approaching the last episodes of season 3 and will soon be watching Rescue From Gilligan's Island as well as Surviving Gilligan's Island.

I wanted to do something special. I've already done the Coconut Cream Pie.

I was thinking about the cups they used on the island.

These two images were found on the internet. The ceramic cups are sold for about $30 each on eBay.

This one was listed as a movie prop from Gilligan's Island. Winning bid from last June was $177
