Who cares about Kim and Kanye?

The real star of April's Vogue issue is Mindy Kaling, who has become one of Hollywood's most fashionable stars, all while juggling writing, producing and staring on her own sitcom "The Mindy Project".

(So yes, she's pretty much perfect.)





Since the Fox show's premiere in 2012, there's been a lot of fuss made over the actress' body, issues that Kaling cleverly tackles on the show. But in real life, Kaling's quite confident.

"There's a whole list of things I would probably change about myself. For example, I'm always trying to lose 15 pounds. But I never need to be skinny. I don't want to be skinny. I'm constantly in a state of self-improvement, but I don't beat myself up over it," Kaling tells the magazine.





Kaling is not afraid to take a fashion risk, but she always dresses with a sharp awareness of her slightly fluctuating curves.

"When I'm at my thinnest, I tend to wear things that don't show off my body. But when I'm bigger, I'll go body-con, which comes from a place of 'This is my perimeter, in case you were wondering if I was actually much bigger,'" she says.





The star also has a keen eye when it comes to combining bold prints and playful accessories, explaining, "I love when your clothes can help you project that you're witty — you know, when your outfit does some of the work for you."

"It's really tempting not to take chances," Kaling says. "But I don't want to be fearful. I don't want my tombstone to say, she hid her imperfections well on the red carpet."
