What is at least one series that failed with you but was/is a hit with other people (friends, family, etc.)?

Northern Exposure fits that bill for me. I had purchased the #3 release lately to try it out, because I had never seen it before. From the first episode, I strongly detested it and thought it was very overrated and preachy (IOW, to me, it was a show that I shouldn't have even gotten a release of, let alone thought about). That's the bad news.

The somewhat good news is, my father loves it, so much so that I got him the rest of the series; he's working on #4 now.

All those, and then some! Little House on the Prairie is another that is like this for me. Two of my brothers can't get enough of it, but I couldn't stand a minute of it.
