Default Will "The Expendables 3" flop?

I should predict to insist that Steven Seagal and Mark Wahlberg should be in this movie instead, rather than both Harrison ford and Kelsey Grammer!

But Steven is more of a lawman type of actor and Mark is still too young an actor, that's the problem.

I don't really care too much about these movies, but I will say I think Harrison Ford is a great fit for the lineup of action heroes in these movies. I mean- he's Han Solo and Indiana Jones! You gotta include him. But Steven Seagal would be a great choice too. I don't think Mark Wahlberg is really quite in that echelon yet though.

Harrison Ford definitely fits as he's done several action movies, even out side of the Star Wars/Indian Jones franchises.

Kelsey Grammer, still don't get that one.

Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes, and Mel Gibson are all good additions.

I rented the first one, didn't think too much of it, saw the second and was bored to death by it and this is coming from an action junkie watching Rambo, Commando, Missing In Action as a kid.

The problem is too much CGI for explosions and blood, I miss the old when a small dedicated group of SFX made it all practical and would film an explosion using three different cameras for all angles and it was amazing.

I think Steven Seagal and Mark Wahlberg would be included in Expendables 4, if there is one.

Well, Kelsey Grammer did play The Beast in "X-Men III: The Last Stand"
But yeah- that's an interesting and kinda odd addition- hey, he can branch out if he wants to- but seeing as how it looks like Slyvester Stallone is specifically looking for classic action stars of the 1980s and '90s and such- and particularly ones who are legendary for action roles- I'm not sure that Grammer is the best fit- but maybe he plays a different role than mercenary.

Kelsey Grammer would not be correct fit because he is more of a comedian than a serious type of actor.

Yeah, but that's the thing- he's stereotyped as a comedic actor because he's played Dr. Frasier Crane for so long on "Cheers" and then "Frasier". That doesn't mean he can't play a serious role if he wants to- by definition, actors should be able to take on most any role- I think it's a good thing when an actor or actress can take on something that they haven't tried before or something they're not known for and stretch themselves some- as well as stretch audiences' ideas on what kind of roles they can play.

MacLeaper, you're right that actors should do different characters because that's what acting is about. Actors should never play the same characters all the time. I saw Kelsey Grammer in 15 Minutes with Robert Deniro and he was serious in that. That's a good movie. I'm surprised though that Kelsey is gonna be in The Expendables 3 and i'm also surprised Harrison Ford is gonna be in it. Harrison hasn't done a lot of action movies and i wouldn't consider Star Wars and Indiana Jones sequels action movies. I hope this is the last Expendables because i don't want them to get carried away with doing 5-6 sequels LOL. It's bad enough they keep making Fast and the Furious sequels LOL.

Not yet, MacLeaper...

I know it was wrong to exclude both Steven Seagal and Mark Wahlberg from Expendables 3 movie because they also appear in lots of violent Rated-R movies in their own times.

But they both could not get included in Expendables 3 movie because Steven is more of lawman type rather than a warrior type and Mark is probably to young to appear.

Expendables 3 is not the final one, there will be Expendables 4 and that's the only good time that they will include both Steven Seagal and Mark Wahlberg in it.

Wow i can't believe there's gonna be a 4th one and they haven't released the 3rd one yet LOL. It would be nice if Steven Seagal was in the 4th one. That's nice that Sylvester Stallone tried to get Steven to be in the 3rd one.

They may have to include Mark Wahlberg in the fourth one and he will be more mature in that film by then.
