Dear Nick at Nite Viewer Services,
I have a proposal for Nick at Nite: to make a deal with Disney's Buena Vista Television for Nick at Nite to become the shared cable home (with ABC Family & MTV2) of the hit 1993-2000 Disney sitcom "Boy Meets World." Created by Michael Jacobs, "Boy Meets World" starred Ben Savage (younger brother of "The Wonder Years'" Fred) as Cory Matthews, a typical American 6th-grade boy, age 11, living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Like MANY boys his age, Cory still lived with his parents: dad Alan (William "Rusty" Russ), a Blue-Collar Grocer, and mom Amy (Betsy Randle), a homemaker, along with his teenage brother Eric (Will Friedle) and their baby sister Morgan (Lindsay Ridgeway). Cory's best friend since babyhood was Shawn Hunter (Rider Strong), and his girlfriend (later wife) was Topanga Lawrence (Danielle Fishel). Their teacher, Mr. George Feeny (William Daniels), also served as Cory's next-door neighbor--a fact Cory ALMOST never liked. In September 1994, at the start of the show's 2nd season, Cory, Shawn, & Topanga enrolled as 7th grade students at John Adams High School in Philadelphia, and joining them were Mr. Feeny, the new School Principal, and their homeroom/English Literature teacher, Mr. Jon Turner (Anthony Tyler Quinn), who the following Fall also became Shawn's legal guardian. Among the MANY guest stars on this Disney sitcom's 7-year run included Phyllis Diller, Buddy Hackett, Soupy Sales, Fred Savage & Candace Cameron. Tentatively, Nick at Nite shall welcome "Boy Meets World" to its regular lineup starting on Monday, September 1, 2014 with a week-long marathon titled "Nick at Nite Meets Boy Meets World," in which Ben Savage & Danielle Fishel (from the set of the upcoming Disney Channel sitcom "Girl Meets World") host a 4-night salute to the love affair between Cory Matthews & Topanga Lawrence, 40 episodes (10 per night from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. ET/PT each night, encoring from 2 a.m. to 7 a.m. ET/PT each night) saluting the 7-year courtship of Cory Matthews & Topanga Lawrence, with each episode included in the marathon showcased complete, uncut, & unedited, just the way that the episodes originally aired on the ABC Television Network. The marathon, I suggest, shall consist solely of episodes featuring the courtship of Cory & Topanga leading up to their wedding, which shall conclude the marathon event--from their 1st date to their wedding. Episodes in the "Nick at Nite Meets Boy Meets World" marathon shall include the following, in random order: 1. "Cory's Alternative Friends" (Original airdate: October 15, 1993) 2. "Boy Meets Girl" (Original airdate: May 6, 1994) 3. "Back 2 School" (Original airdate: September 23, 1994) 4. "Pairing Off" (Original airdate: September 30, 1994) 5. "She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not" (Original airdate: January 14, 1994) 6. "Who's Afraid of Cory Wolf?" (Original airdate: October 28, 1994) 7. "Band on the Run" (Original airdate: November 11, 1994) 8. "The Beard" (Original airdate: December 9, 1994) 9. "Cyrano" (Original airdate: January 6, 1995) 10. That is not going to happen. Nick at Nite will never pick up Boy Meets World. The show belongs to ABC so it will be on ABC Family and other related networks. I know it aired on MTV for a bit but that means very little.

Not to mention that the sequel series is currently airing on The Disney Channel.
As much as I would like a block of old TGIF shows to run beside each other again, it's not going to happen. |
