Question Is This Really A Normal Price For A Landline Phone Service?

Is $57.00 (that includes taxes) a normal amount for a landline that only has local calling and call waiting?

My landline does not have caller id. It does not have long distance, etc. $57.00 seems like a lot per month for what seems like very basic serivce. I need a landline. My first bill will this Friday.

Well before I had my phone, tv and internet bundled, I was paying around $60.00. a month. Just the other day, someone asked me what I was paying for my individual calls. I went blank and then said all mine are bundled with Comcast. Never see an individual bill. I was thinking of dropping the land line phone , but the price would only be $8.00 less off the Comcast bill. I really have pushed myself to use my cell phone other than a few emergencies. For the 3 services of phone, tv and internet, I pay about $165. a month.

I was able to get it down from $57.99 to $42.00 so that's better.

Even $42 sounds high for such bare bones service, but life is expensive. Maybe you can call around to different providers.

Yes that does seem high but remember LANDLINE SERVICE is much better quality than this digital crap (VOIP) so even though the cost is higher, its worth it

But I know where your coming from.... Money is hard to come by

I hope you can work something good out FTF

That's true, the quality is better on a landline than a cell phone, imo.

We dropped our landline(Verizon) service and installed MagicJack on the computer. $19.95 a year and we can call anywhere with no extra charges. It's great! The drawback is we can't have and extension phone. In case you don't know High speed internet is required to use Magicjack.
