With Monica and Chandler gone (still able to visit but not there everyday like they have been) and Joey living in L.A., that just leaves Ross, Rachel and Phoebe in the city and spending their days at Central Perk. Monica's apartment building is no longer a place the friends go to since no one lives there anymore (I imagine Ross and Rachel live together at his place).
So I wonder if Ross & Rachel and Phoebe & Mike go out a lot together as couples. If they made any new friends to hang with. I know they weren't good at bringing new friends into the group but with the group cut in half, they might feel like they have to bring in some newbies. |

I think for the first couple of years, Chandler and Monica would have come to the city regularly, because it would have been important to them to maintain their friendships. Then, after starting to lose touch more frequently, maybe they would have changed their minds about the 'burbs and moved back to NYC. Monica would be closer to good chef jobs in the city, and having family in the city might make them want to move back.

I also think about what the friends think of Joey's career. I always pictured them following it from his season run on "Deep Powder" to his big hit film "Captured" and wonder if they even bought his action figure.
I just finished watching all 10 seasons of "Friends" and both seasons of "Joey" and there was a feeling of pride seeing him all the way back to when he was just doing crappy plays to being on "Days of our Lives" to doing the short-lived "Mac and C.H.E.E.S.E." series, all the way to getting a three picture deal from Warner Bros. in the last few episodes of "Joey." But I couldn't help but wonder what all of the friends were thinking about all of that. |

I bet they were rooting him on from New York. Going to his NYC theater premieres when his films opened, having TV parties for him when he was scheduled to do big TV interviews, and, ultimately, being there for him when Hollywood predictably turns out not to be all it's cracked up to be.
