While reading an interview that Freddie made in 1975 the reporter asked him this question.......
Q - What do you need in life to be happy? Answer - Music. Music is my sanctuary, I go home and listen to music. Laughter too. And if I can go on stage and take people away from their problems and maybe show them a few things and expose a few things, I'm happy. I like to take them away from their hassles for a half hour in their life. While reading this I noticed the word sanctuary (That is where he is buried).

This reminded me of something I noticed the other day when watching Freddie on the DEAN MARTIN ROASTS tape of the Muhammad Ali Roast. He seemed so happy on there & on CATM too. It got me to thinking. I suspect that he was only happy when performing on tv or stage & The rest of the time he was not happy at all. When I thought of that I started wishing that he had been performing 24/7 & the only non-performing thing he did was sleep. Then maybe he might still be here with us today.

That is very interesting JennyLee, and what is a sanctuary? some place to go for comfort,or to be alone an away from the rest of the world. Good observation.

I agree with Anna, great observation JennyLee. This is very touching. Thank-you for posting that excerpt from the interview. It is very thought-provoking.

I can relate to what Freddie says! Music or drawing are my sanctuaries and it helps feed the soul! Too bad Freddie didn't have more chance to escape and slow down!
