Default I just need to vent...

I'm usually a very soft spoken person and I rarely open up especially on here but I think I've been pushed to the limit.

Now, I did tell you that my mother is going to have to have hip replacement surgery on both hips. She's in such pain but she cant take time off from work because we need the money. We are trying to sell our home but its going to be tough because even though I dont have a job, I still have to take care of her plus get the house ready to be put on the market.

Not only that, but my mother's car has been acting up. It makes like a bucking noise when she drives, so that has to be fixed but because of all the snow days and such, her pay isnt going to be that high. So then it becomes, what do you do? Pay bills or eat? I dont know when this will end.

I'm trying like hell to find a job but I can't. I was even thinking of maybe doing what Pavan does or maybe turn what I do here, which is talking about sitcoms, tv in general etc. into a job. Maybe a blogger or something. Can you have a career based on that?

Ok, vent over.

Cool

Wow, you've got a lot going on in your life. I hope and pray that things will get better for you and that your Mom will have successful surgery on her hips and be pain free i the future.

still in somewhat the same position I was when I first mentioned it. I'm trying to sell my home so wish me luck on that. I'm still not very social. In fact, I havent gone out with friends in years. I know that they have lives and responsibilities and I understand that. There focus and job is to take care of there families and friends. Does it seem selfish to say that I just dont fit with them? Its like I feel and always felt like I was an outsider in life. Never had "friends." People I talk to? Yes. But not people to really rely on.

I will say I still have no job. Do you think you could make a living off blogging? I mean you guys think I have good points most of the time, right? Can I turn it into somewhat a career?

I still don't get why you have to sell your home? Is it because you feel that you can't afford staying where you live now? And you didn't tell us how your mother is doing now. How did her hip surgery go? It sounds terrible that she had to work despite being practically disabled. Over here in Sweden, she most likely would have gotten "sick pay" from the government. And I can't believe that there's nothing like that over in the US. Either that or maybe she should have gotten money from an insurance or something. But to think that people in our modern world would have to work despite having two bad hips... And as for the possibility to support yourself through a blog, I'm afraid only a few people can accomplish that. After all, you still need to get the money from somewhere.

She hasnt had the surgery yet. She's not disabled. She can move her legs but it hurts her. The reason why I'm selling my home, is we cant afford it anymore. All you really do is pay bills.

You need a job. A job is not necessarily something that you like. That's why it's called work. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and making believe someone will pay you for talking about old TV shows. Get a simple entry level job that will pay you minimum wage. That's not enough? Then do it better than anyone else and get a raise. Think someone is going to give you something for nothing? Has anyone done it so far? You want luck? Make it yourself.

To be fair, it seems like Mets82 has been trying to find a job. But I guess it's not always so easy to find one, especially not if you live in a town with much unemployment. My brother's fiancée has eight kids, out of which half of them are adults by now. But only two of them has a job at the moment. While it can seem unrealistic to expect to make a living from a blog, normal jobs can be hard to find too.

Thats true. I have been looking. There's just nothing out there. I'm trying my best.

I just have to say that I'm not feeling sorry for myself. What has happened to me in life, happened. There are a lot of other people in the same position as me. Its real easy to say "I should do this.." "I should do that..." but try walking in my shoes.

sorry to hear that Mets82

Right now just focus on a list of jobs you are willing to do that will generate some income

and then worry about the dream job later. Then once you get a job you can spend your spare time trying to figure out how to get a job connected to Blogging

Hi mets82. Sorry for not posting sooner and that you have to deal all of this; sometimes when it rains it pours. Keeping reaching out to friends and hang in there. Hope some encouraging changes come your way!
