I'm very much a fan of "A Fine Romance" and "As Time Goes By". Recently, the local PBS ran "The Good Life", and I became a fan of Richard Briers. But. I also realized, I am a fan of Bob Larbey.
I decided I would make a project of watching every Esmonde/Larbey effort as possible. So I found a good "grabber" program that would work even with me incredibly slow connection and started downloading from YouTube. Since I have noticed this show mentioned in so many posts and interviews I decided to start with Mulberry. Now that I have seen all episodes of this show I can now understand why it pops up in so many conversations. What a charming story! Especially the second season that, to me, just oozed charm and humor. Just begging for at least one more season. I wonder who the fools at the BBC were that cancelled it? And Bob Larbey, years later on the interview. What a sweet gentle man. The whole Mulberry experience was pure pleasure for me. I would highly recommend viewing this show. Then watch the Larbey interview. Well worth the time. |

I loved Mulberry. They showed a season of it on my local PBS, and I liked it so much that I rented all the episodes on Netflix. It was just such a sweet and charming show. The characters were all so likeable-even the very prim and proper Miss Farnaby. I wish they'd show it again on PBS.

The good news is that if you go to Youtube and search for Mulberry, you'll see all the episodes are there in complete form. I've just watched the first four. |

This is one of the loveliest, sweetest shows I've ever seen, and I tear up just thinking about what a nice ending that would have been. |
