Has anyone else noticed Franklin Cover's skinny frail appearance during the 1983-1984 season. To chronicle his health you have to look at the episodes of the Jeffersons in production order. I noticed that at the beginning of the season, he looked like his old self. The sixth episode produced that season was How Not to Marry a Millionaire. He wasn't on again until the episode, Trading Places, the 14th episode produced. In How Not to Marry a Millionaire, he looked fine but when he returned he had lost a lot of weight, especially in his mid-section and in his face. By the 1984-1985 season, he began to look like his old self again.
Does anyone know, what happened. Did he have some medical problem? I don't think he was dieting because he just looked to sick. |

I do not watch Jefferson reruns, but I do remember watching the show waaay back on CBS, and yes, something strange was going on with Mr. Cover's appearance. I remeber my Mother saying something like "He must be sick. He looks awful."
He was off the show for a while as you stated, so I'm thinking it had to be because of some sort of illness. Check his bio on the Internet Movie Database (www.IMDB.com). Maybe they have some info. |
