Default Can I Get An Unedited GI DVD?

I saw on here that they have GI DVDs Seasons 1-3, but my question is are these DVDs uncut or unedited. I am only interested in buying DVDs that have not been edited in any way. Is there even such a thing available, and if so, where can I buy it? Thanks

I bought my three DVD sets from Amazon, they are the same ones as advertised here and they are uncut and unedited.

Best purchase I ever made

To a purist extreme I am sure the answer is no. I have seen proof documented on YouTube of missing bits. Very small differences to be sure, but a clearly demonstrated difference between footage of an old syndie print and DVD showing that the latter is missing some elements.

It is also well known that a subtly different third season theme has gone entirely missing and does not appear on any DVD.

Well, I am more than happy with mine. I can't see how much would have been taken out, certainly there are no huge chunks missing such as when TV stations make room for commercials.

I would very much doubt every single bit of everything exists from when GI was filmed 50 years ago.

The DVDs are excellent in my opinion.

Thanks to you guys for the replies. Very helpful! I will probably go ahead and order the copies on Amazon as you did Teebs since you said you were so happy with them.

You're welcome, Prof Gal! I am indeed happy with them. It would be a shame not to buy them purely because a few seconds of someone blinking might be missing or the theme tune for one season might be slightly different. In my opinion ALL versions of the theme tune are excellent.

Buying these DVDs was the best thing I ever did and that's not even an understatement

The main problem with the Gilligan's Island DVD's is the discs are double sided. I believe there are a few episodes on the DVD's that are slightly edited, not quite complete, but those double sided discs are the main bone of contention. People who like Gilligan's Island should still buy the DVD's, they are not absolutely 100 percent perfect but at this point it's the best that's available.

How is that a problem being double sided? Old vinyl records were double sided, you just flip them over. It also cuts down on the amount of discs lying around on the floor while you decide what to watch.

I guess for every pro argument there's a con argument but I would always recommend these DVDs, I doubt you will ever get the absolute, uncut, unedited, un tampered-with 98 episodes, PLUS original unaired pilot with Bunny, Ginger and the other Professor, on any other DVD collection.

I just wish they had made blooper reels in those days...

DVD's are more fragile and have to be handled more carefully than a vinyl record. Double sided DVD's are all the more prone to get scratched and damaged. Double sided DVD's can also have playback problems, with one side able to play and not the other. Vinyl records need to be handled carefully also, but records are a little more durable than CD's or DVD's.

Warners released both F Troop and Gilligan's Island on DVD. F Troop is on single sided discs while Gilligan's Island (the more popular show) is on double sided discs. Doesn't make sense.

Probably why it's best to purchase from a reputable seller so that you can return them if anything's wrong. I was lucky with mine- I purchased them 'almost new' from Amazon and I've had no problems. In fact, season 3 was in mint condition and still had the cellophane wrapper on.

The original 2004/2005 DVDs of Gilligan's Island were 3 discs double sided but the 2012 rereleases are 5-6 single sided discs stacked on top of each other. Those are what I have.

That's good if Gilligan's Island has been reissued on single sided discs, but at this point I'm not going to double dip and buy the series again. I'll stay with the double sided discs as long as I'm not having problems with them.

I have the original ones too. The double sided discs. I'm not spending any more money buying re-releases either. Mine work just fine. When you think the cast never received a penny in residuals in all of those years, I don't want to be putting even more money into other people's pockets than I have to.

Are these the BEST COMPLETE unedited ones?

http://www.amazon.com/Gilligans-Isla...lligans+island
It says "The Complete Series Collection" but is it REALLY?
I heard after the 1st DVD release there were some things missing and people who purchased got replacement discs for those missing scenes? Same thing happened to the Batman 1966 DVDs ?

A friend of mine gave me his DVDs what I think is the ENTIRE 3 seasons but I'm not 100% sure? I hear now about these Replacement Disc's that were sent by Warner Bros. after the 1st DVD release?

I saw this on eBay
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gilligans-Is...item2c8e0bac30
SEASON 1 REPLACEMENT DISC?
What exactly specific was not included the 1st time?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gilligans-Is...item2c8e0ba54b

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gilligans-Is...item2a452ac834
How many replacement discs do I need to buy or did Warner Bros. send out?
Is it too late to contact and have Warner Bros. send me replacements if I'm missing scenes?

What specifically are on these replacement Gilligan's Island supplement DVDs?
"Replacement Disc DVD" Is it additional scenes that were accidentally omitted? I'm guessing what versions I have IF their 100% or not now?

I saw 1 on eBay too
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gilligans-Is...item2c8e0baefb
Does anyone know?

and another...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gilligans-Is...item5d509a2c99

Season 2 Disc3 replacement Disc

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gilligans-Is...item2a498c239e

and another

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gilligans-Is...item2a36148bdd

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gilligans-Is...item2a498c23b9

and another?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gilligans-Is...item5d47fa48b9

So what scenes did they not include specifically missing on Warner Bros. 1st release?
