Is Tim Daly getting back into TV medicine? The former "Private Practice" star has booked a guest-starring role on "The Mindy Project".

"Switched at Birth's" B.K. Cannon, who is also appearing on the show, first broke the news on Twitter, and Daly retweeted the news. It is unknown who he is playing on the show, which centers heavily on Dr. Mindy Lahiri's OB-GYN office.

"Day 1 on the hilarious @MindyProjectFOX working with @TimmyDaly and life is good. Sexy and good."

"The Mindy Project" returns with new episodes on Tuesday, April 1 at 9:30/8:30c on Fox.
