Default anyone else hate Emma?

Personally, I think she's very annoying. She nearly got Norman killed because she was obsessed over that sex ring thing. Yes it's an important issue that should be investigated, but the time to do it is not when you're RUNNING FOR YOUR LIFE FROM DRUG LORDS. I can understand her being infatuated with Norman, but the way she constantly clings to him is really off-putting. He's clearly not interested and she's fooling herself if she thinks he is.

The part that annoys me about her is the fact after Cody confessed to her about Emma about Norman's blackouts? What does she do? She runs and tells Norma I know that she was only trying to help, but honestly there is a reason when Cody says that Norman told her that Norma would be upset if she knew about his blackouts then perhaps you should take that into consideration.

Exactly. She blabs stuff all the time, then gets pissy with everyone when nobody will tell her anything. She actually had the chutzpah to get pissy with Sheriff Romero about it too. I hate how she considers herself a member of the Bates family and wants to know about all the family business, but she's not a member of the family and shouldn't want to get swept up in all that drama anyways.

Here's a few more of the many examples of why I find Emma annoying:

-when Norman was hiding in the motel office from somebody, Emma gives him crap for it, when it turns out she was doing the EXACT same thing.

-when she made a scene at the homecoming dance and yelled at Norman. Norman clearly isn't interested in her and was taking her as a nice gesture, which she was too ignorant to figure out. I think she's ugly inside person inside and out. Her eyes are GIGANTIC.

-she needs to learn how to control her drug and alcohol intake. She's still a minor and shouldn't be doing that stuff anyways.

-She seemed really mean-spirited when she showed up at the memorial for Bradley at the beach and said that she hated Bradley, whom she thought was dead. Okay, so Bradley really isn't dead, but Emma doesn't know that and it's really tacky and off-putting for Emma to mention that. Plus, I don't know what her grudge with Bradley is, Bradley didn't to anything personal to Emma. Emma was probably just jealous of Bradley's relationship with Norman.

And on that note, I find her character to be very dispensable and the writers just threw her in because one of the writers has cystic fibroris, and wanted one of the characters to have the same affliction as he has. Personally, my world isn't that myopic. I have sympathy for various types of people, not just ones that share my same experiences.

I laughed at the pentultimate season 2 episode where Emma gives her two weeks notice to Norma and was expecting a huge reaction from Norma about it, but Norma just says things like 'thanks for working here' and shuts the front door on her. Thankfully, Emma didn't have much to do in season 2 and hopefully they'll reduce her character even more (better yet, permanently) in season 3.

Her character keeps getting worse as the show goes on. She may end up like one of Norman's stuffed animals if she doesn't back off with all those questions.

100% agree with this. Emma needs to understand that there are things that aren't any of her business and should not ask questions. The fact that Norman let her in on the whole stuff with Norma and Caleb, she should feel privileged about that because it was clear the only reason he did it was because despite everything Norman does care about her and wants her to stay.

I agree. I like all the characters on the show but her.

Is this the same actress who is in all those annoying AT&T commercials????

I don't like Emma, either. I just don't like the personality they gave her. I'm just not sure why she's there, I guess. I liked Cody Brennan although I am getting a bit tired of the stereotypes of tough girl with strife at home and good sweet girl next door with a disease but she's not pitying herself but everyone around her IS...and we even had the hooker with a heart of gold.

It's nothing against the actress or the way she looks although I wish they'd do something about those bangs. I just feel like there's no purpose to her.

Actually I like her better now than when she had a hose up her nose. She's actually quite beautiful. I hate that she's with perch-mouth Dylan though.
