Default Ricky Nelson & Kent McCord

Why didn't Ricky Nelson do a guest appearance on his friend's show Adam-12 as a cop or crook??? His dad and wife made appearances and even Ozzie directed a few episodes so there was an Ozzie & Harriet connection to of all shows Adam-12

We did get to see one of Rick and Kent's old pals. Skip Young, "Wally Plumstead" from O & H, did appear. In the episode I saw, I think he was playing the assistant D.A. when Reed had to appear in court.

I must of seen that episode w/o realizing that was Wally. As a recent O&H fan I never been aware of Skip Young and likely seen that Adam-12 ep on my DVD.

Rick's big brother/O&H co-star David Nelson I read directed some Adam-12 episodes too.

Maybe by the late-sixties/early-seventies Ricky Nelson was done with acting and wanted no part of it anymore. Maybe he was dedicating himself only to his music, especially with his hit song "Garden Party". I'm not sure that's the reason but that's my guess.

No, Rick appeared in other things, even a sitcom pilot, IIRC from a biography I read about him.

Wasn't Mark Harmon somehow related to the Nelson family? He appeared as a young cop in a late season episode of Adam-12, riding in the car with Jim Reed driving.
