Has anyone ever heard of that expression? It is supposed to be common around the Midwest and the South. I have lived in the Midwest for over 40 years and today was the first time I heard it.

That phrase sounds vaguely familiar but maybe I've just read it online- I don't know if I can recall anyone actually saying it.
Of course, I've never heard the term "sunshower" though. There are apparently a wide variety of folklore and beliefs regarding this phenomenon in various parts of the world- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunshower Of course, the phrase itself makes no sense to me- I'm pretty sure the devil's not married- but then I suppose it's possible that he's paired up with one of the demons........ The Bible gives no indication towards that; I don't know what other religious writings might say. But I suppose this is just one of those weird phrases that is used though it probably really doesn't make any sense.... |
