Michael Pitt Devours Key "Hannibal" Role

"Boardwalk Empire" castoff Michael Pitt is returning to the small screen via a pivotal role on NBC’s "Hannibal".

As scooped by EW.com, Pitt will recur as Mason Verger, an unstable wealthy patient of Dr. Hannibal Lecter who begins a dangerous cat-and-mouse game with the deadly serial killer.

Gary Oldman played an older version of the same character in 2001′s Hannibal pic.

The role of Mason’s somewhat unhinged sister, Margo, will be played by Canadian scream queen Katharine Isabelle.

Within an interview with "Hannibal" showrunner Bryan Fuller at Huffington Post, the first photo of Michael Pitt as Mason Verger made its debut.

The pic was taken by director David Slade.
