Absolutely, the series ended extremely well; the final episode was very funny and, when necessary, touching. I miss the show; it should never have been canceled, but at least Lifetime is picking it up!

Question Memory going

I know I've seen the final episode but for some reason I can't remember what happens. Could someone refresh my memory?

I haven't seen it awhile myself, so forgive me if I have some of the facts wrong. But here's what I remember:

Fran and Max had their babies (twins, a boy and a girl, i think). Maggie had gotten married a few episodes before this, and so she is with her new hubby. Niles and C.C. finally got together and -- were they going to be married in the end? I think she might have been going to have a baby also. I'm not sure. Anyways, Max (and C.C.?) got a job in Hollywood to produce a sitcom and so the whole family said goodbye to the mansion and headed for CA. Fran was the last to leave - and it was sad watching her think back to all the good times she had had there.

I thought it was the perfect ending! Max finally gets the oppertunity to move up in his career, C.C. and Niles end up together (which we all knew was going to happen, despite the insults for 6 years, lol), and Fran finally gets children of her own and ends up with her Mr. Sheffield, who she loved since the beginning. Gosh, that was a great show. I'm sorry it had to end, but since had to, I'm glad it ended the way it did.

Yep, you just missed on funny part. Niles and C.C. ended up togther, and C.C. was having stomach pains, and found out she was pregnant. She didn't know this, so she thought she was anxious to get married. So they were married and were holdiong hands while Fran was underneath and right in the middle of labor! And they also revealed C.C.'s full name as chastidy Claire and everyone gave her this weird look. It was a great episode.

Default The ending could have been a beginging

The ending was perfect HOWEVER because of the events that took place, they could have (& should have) created a WHOLE new series based in CA. It could no longer be THE NANNY because Fran no longer was but with C.C. & Niles now married w/ a child on the way, Brighton backpacking through europe, Maggie Married to the Model, Gracie who was once the baby is now the big sister & the eldest in the house & then there is Fran & Max w/ the twins, now living in CA & Max's new career there is just a ton of new material & we already know the chemistry is there & the comedic timing is right on the mark, how could it fail. Its a missed oppertonity that in my opinon based on the responses of the cast members to the ending of the series would have been a welcome chance for them to continue working together.

Its not to late & I'm sure that the show would get lots of attention if they decide to do it. But alas I guess its just wishful thinking on my part.....

I think it ended right except for the fact C.C. and Niles got together. I would have rather them stayed like they were, making smart remarks about each other. I'm glad that Fran and Max FINALLY got together.

I looooooooooove THE NANNY, but I must admit: the show ended too late. By the final season, the writing got very stale; and the show just seemed to run out of gas. It seemed as though practically everything was done out of desperation, an excuse to finish the season and get it over with.

Although not as bad as the earliest episodes, the ones after Max and Fran get married are indications that the nanny overstayed her welcome.

It might have seemed as though "everything was done out of desperation, an excuse to finish the season and get it over with"
but The cast had no idea the show was being pulled. They had filmed a few other episodes when the news came that the show had been canceled & the station had planned to pull the plug then and there just dumping the extra episodes, however through an outpouring of requests from fans they decided to show the last few episodes over the summer.

In the episode " The Baby Shower"
At the hotel lobby, Fran Drescher tells Fran Sheffield not to miss the series finale "next week". Obviously, at the time the writers did not know the show was going to undergo a hiatus and this episode would be broadcast after the finale.

So everyone had expected the show to continue the following season & only discoverd that was not to be.
Check out all the interesting notes about the episodes
(esp season 6)

I thought it ended nicely. Although I kept thinking Fran was going to look at the camera and thank us .. the tv audience. Anyone else think that ? Because it seemed like it was a long time while she was looking over the house before she left it.I just loved that show

I'm glad it ended, one season too late, but oh well . I mean, she was no longer a nanny and the majority of the jokes weren't even funny.

I think it ended at just the right time. I liked seeing how Fran and Max worked out the differences now that they weren't boss and employee anymore. I was glad to see Fran have kids of her own. My heart broke the other night w/ the false positive.

Hi all!

I've been a long time fan of TN, but a recent discoverer of Sitcoms Online - I really like it here!

I think the show ended as best as it could have considering how rushed they were when they found out the show wasn't going to be picked up. The last episodes, imo, were strongly written. They were able to target each character specifically in each one: Maggie getting married, Brighton looking at colleges and then deciding not to attend Harvard, Gracie was able to stop seeing her therapist Dr. Bort (this part was cut from Finale I in syndication), Sylvia having an affair, we finally got to see what Morty looked like, Yetta and her letters to a past love affair, Niles and CC *finally* got together and Fran and Maxwell were moving to a new phase in their relationship as parents to twins.

We almost didn't get to see 'Dummy Twins', 'Yetta's Lettas', 'Maggie's Wedding' and 'The Baby Shower'. I remember after 'The Producers' episode, CBS showed 'The Finale' next and was going to end it right there. Can you imagine my hair loss? lol

I'm w/Smokeypeach, I wish there was more N/CC. And I wish the spin-off could have happened. ::sigh::

I also agree with smokeypeach and Sue Dunnym. Although I'm a Max/Fran fan, I enjoyed season 6. It was great to see Fran's struggle to become a mother, and of course who can forget Niles and C.C.'s bizarre transition from enemies to lovers? "Yetta's Lettas" is one of my favorite episodes. Although I liked the "Will they/won't they" aspect of seasons 1-5 a lot more, I don't think the show lost anything in season 6.

Just my 2 cents. I was actually considering making a thread about people's opinions of season 6.
