Default Favorite Game Show Opening/Intros

could be a classic like "Get Ready to match the stars" or could be an obsecure one from an equally short-lived show "It's time now for everyone's favorite movie game show...The Movie Masters!" or could be a pilot "S-P-E-L-L, SPELL! It's time to spell out the answers on...Spell Binders!".

well those are a few of the example I have, what say you comment in this post and let me know what you think!

until then as Blake Emmons once said, Give someone a smile and start your own "Chain Reaction"!

Here are a few classic openings/intros:

"This is Jeopardy!"
"On your mark! Let's start the Family Feud!"
"These people, dressed as they are, come from all over the United States to make deals here in the marketplace of America LET'S MAKE A DEAL!"
"From Hollywood, here come the newlyweds!"
"You are the first four contestants on The Price is Right."
"It's more than Password, it's Password Plus!"

Default $10,000 Pyramid

I can't quote it exactly, but I liked the $10,000 Pyramid opening before they went to a montage of big winners.

well, how about this "Keep your eye on this spot, for you are about to see one celebrity and one contestant step into this circle, for a chance to win $10,000, in less than a minute. Ladies & Gentlemen, This is The $10,000 Pyramid" or in another way "From Television City in Hollywood, this is The $10,000 Pyramid".

Yeah, that was a great opening. It wasn't a curtain, but this big covering rose up to reveal the big pyramid behind.

Oh really, I though it was the dramatic diming of the lights in the opening while the theme music played in the background before they were turned on.

Oh well, live and learn!

The shopping-era opening of Jim's $ale
Bullseye civilian version
Tic Tac Dough
Split Second w/Tom Kennedy

Those are just a few of my favorites.

Hmm- I do enjoy a number of game shows. I don't know if the opening credits themselves are always as memorable (though I remember them too for the most part)- but I would say the theme songs alone for these game shows are iconic to me and some of my favorites:

The Price is Right
Family Feud
Wheel of Fortune
Jeopardy!

(Those right there are my main top four.)
Other memorable and favorite game shows.......

Press Your Luck
The $100,000 Pyramid
Hollywood Squares
Tic Tac Dough
Scrabble
Win, Lose or Draw
The Joker's Wild
Card Sharks
Name That Tune
Let's Make A Deal

and some more recent ones-

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?
Beat The Geeks
Silent Library (when it's not gross or risque)
The American Bible Challenge

That is true MacLeaper about some if not all game show theme songs are memorable. but these days I don't know if any theme songs of new game show are well-recognized as the classic theme songs we know from yesteryear.

but anyway to continue on with the Game Show Spiel theme,

"Number 1, what is your name please? My name is (insert name). Number 2? My name is (insert name). Number 3? My Name is (insert name). Only one of these people is the real (insert name) and is sworn To Tell the Truth!"

Oh yes- "To Tell The Truth" is iconic!

I'm also a fan of Guy Smiley's many, numerous game shows on Sesame Street!
"Beat the Time" is a particular favorite, along with "What's Prarie's Problem?"
I also fondly recall Pat Playjacks hosting "Squeal of Fortune" on Sesame Street- that's a great sketch too.

"Beat the Time>Beat the Clock
Squeal of Fortune>Wheel of Fortune

but I'm not sure about "What's Prarie's Problem?" is a spoof of "What's My Line?" though!

Tic Tac Dough because the of that awesome graphic that the monitors displayed.

Press Your Luck's intro made it exciting from the start.

And Catch Phrase's intro with Art James because it gave you a taste of what's to come with the cool animation.

I asked on a game show newsgroup one time if that was sort of like a primitive screensaver for the board (computerized as it was), and got an affirmative answer. Do you think it was like that?
