NBC Releases "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" Promo

On February 17, "The Tonight Show" continues its legacy of late night excellence with a new host, Jimmy Fallon.

It was a huge mistake firing Jay Leno, and an even bigger mistake moving it to New York. Whoever suggested this should have lost his job.

Yeah, I know New York was the original location for The Tonight Show, and Chicago for a short-time in 1957, but it has been a staple having The Tonight Show in Burbank for over 40 years. And not to mention the fact that I live close by Burbank. Burbank is great. I love Burbank. Always have and always will.

My take on the deal is this.After his 1992 retirement and even beyond his 2005 passing,much of Carson's influence could be seen in Jay Leno's handling of the coveted hosting position.With Fallon comes an entirely different brand of humor altogether.I like Fallon,but I think it a shame that there probably isn't going to be another Leno type to at least act as link back to the show's Carson heydays.With that link to Johnny now about to be gone and probably forever,I'm afraid the show may become something SO entirely different from those classic years,many of us who go back with "Tonight" to Johnny will soon yearn for something at least CLOSE to his style.Also,as much as I have derived much pleasure from Fallon's late night antics,whenver I watch,I always get the feeling I'm being entertained by a high school junior,my final analysis being he just doesn't possess the right brand of maturity for the job...................
