Smartboy Andrew, where are you, dammit? The Gimme A Break board is getting worried! Where are you with your words of wisdom about Hazel Shermet and the Kaniskys?

I have already written to the woman who started this thread telling her where I have been for the past week. However, I am now responding to the post itself just in case any of you guys is interested. I suffered from low sodium and had to go to the hospital. It was a very scary and painful experience! I am glad that it is all over and done with! It seems as if, not much has changed around here. Except for this thread, there is nothing new around here. Almost every time I come here, I also stop in at the pages of "Caroline in the City" and "Mad About You" Nothing is new on either of those pages either! I guess that a lot of people are still getting over the hangovers that came with "New Year's Eve"! In any event, I am just so happy to be back!

There was actually a video interview of Hazel on You tube a while back, but I couldn't find it when I last searched for her on there. I think you probably saw it already. The roles she had, those are the types of roles I am trying to achieve in Hollywood. The one or two liners. But it's impossible if I have no agent to submit me. She was a character actor for sure!

In the first place, I know about the interview that you mentioned in your post. I saw it a few years ago and thought it was great! In the first place, I thought that Hazel looked wonderful for a woman pushing eighty! Just like she was very attractive for a woman in her sixties when she was in "Gimme a Break!" and "Facts of Life". Now, I would imagine that, if you are able to afford a decent agent, you will be able to find some decent roles somewhere. The roles that Hazel had on "Gimme a Break!" did not look that hard, but she had to have a certain personality to pull them off. On "Gimme a Break!" she played the type of person who was very full of herself and who had a lot of disrespect for others. However, her selfishness was constantly backfiring on her in very funny ways! If you think that you could pull off that type of acting, I think that is great and I hope that you are successful! |
