I'm thinking LAW & ORDER and its spinoffs due to dated technology of criminal procedures. Also, many 1970s crime dramas, like QUINCY M.E. and THE ROCKFORD FILES, rely on pre-1980s technology that were bulky and obsolete nowadays. What about THREE'S COMPANY... oh wait, typical misunderstandings would extend to greater misunderstandings in cell phones. There is MIAMI VICE.
I can't think of any other "dated" shows that may appeal many audience today. |

I actually like the old crime shows better because they didn't rely on (or didnt have) technology, they relied on old-fashioned detective work and common sense.

Yes, I've also always found the modern-tech "immediacy" of more recent crime series tends to make them less interesting. When so many plot points are delivered by stationary characters staring at a computer screen, it gets tiresome. Such scenes literally make me crave older shows, before the whole internet/cell-phone era.

I love Lucy I would say is. Despite the show being from the 50's it still gets huge ratings on the networks it airs.

I agree on "I Love Lucy." While dealing with state-of-the-art circa 1951-1957, Lucy and Ricky and Fred and Ethel make those situations as fresh and timeless today as they were then. (You may remember the colorized 1956 Christmas Special episode was the #1 TV show the week that ended December 14th!)
