Hi all.
I'm reading a book called A Beautiful Child. About Franklyn Floyd, Suzanne Davies and Micheal Huges. Its really sad =( I would love to know what you guys think happened to Micheal ? In some parts of the story Franklyn seems really passionate about Micheal and why would he fight so hard to claim him back from the state if he was just planning on killing him? But then he IS a convicted kidnapper, pedophile and has attacked and hurt women in the past. He really is an evil horrible man, so therefore I think could well be capable of killing Micheal. But I'm still kinda stuck on which side to believe more. Sorry if a thread already exists on this case and if its been disused before. So guys what do you think? And does any one know if the case is still open for the search for Micheal? .. I'm only onto chapter 11 of the book and not bothered if you spoil any thing by telling me info!! |

I've read the book as well and I'm sorry to say I think Michael is no longer with us. You're probably not at that part of the book yet, but Floyd confessed to his sister that he drowned Michael in the bathtub after he refused to say he loved him. Also, with how depraved FDF is, I just don't buy that he passed off Michael to a family. We get a good glimpse of how much of a liar he is in the UM segment when a clip of him begging for custody of Michael in the courtroom. If you didn't know who he was or see the actual interview, wouldn't he seem like a convincing liar? I think he killed him. He's killed before and would probably have continued had he not been convicted.
I'm sure Michael's case is still open, but is very cold at this point.

Yes, I believe what the book said about Micheal's fate is most likely what happened. FDF's history makes it fairly clear that he would have no problem doing something like that.

I seriously doubt Michael is still alive, sadly.

It is obvious from fdf past that he is capable of pretty much anything and expecially murder. I just wonder why would he fight so hard to get custordy if hr was planning on killing him? Something like if I cant have him no one will?
No im not at that part but if thats what he said to his sister then its most likely true. Sad but true. a little part of me hopes hes alive though. Very cute little lad |

I have the book and read it a couple of times.
One thing about FDF, not only is he a pedophile, a rapist, a con artist, and a murderer, he's a chronic liar. However one of the few things he said that I believe is when he told his sister that he killed Michael. I'm not sure I believe his version of what happened, but I think poor little Michael is dead and Floyd killed him. |

I've also been researching the FDF case recently. I cannot comprehend the evil of this guy and in general how people can hurt children.
The world is a safer place now that he is on death row in FL. Below is his inmate listing for those who haven't seen it: http://www.dc.state.fl.us/ActiveInma...onID=221499529 (If the link doesn't work, go to http://www.dc.state.fl.us/ and follow the links and search his name) I'm keen to read the book, if someone has a copy they no longer want, please PM me or let me know where I can view it online. |

Can't help but feel Michael is dead. With Floyd in jail and thus unable to control his whereabouts, can't help but think he would have surfaced by now. Seems also like if Michael was alive Floyd would have taken the opportunity to use him as a bargaining chip. His adamant refusal to do so leads me to think he's dead.

Although Floyd may have been impassioned about Michael, passion isn't always rooted in love. Sometimes it springs forth from anger, jealousy, neuroticism, or sociopathy. I tend to think those were probably the source of any strong feelings Floyd may have had concerning Michael. |

Michael, on the other hand, was not going to be that easy. He hated Floyd. The years of abuse, combined with losing his mother just wrecked him. He was a beyond emotionally damaged little boy. He finally made some progress living with his foster family in a stable and loving home, and when Floyd yanked that all away, I'm sure all the trauma came back and Michael was inconsolable. If I had to guess, I would say Michael lived no more than a week after the kidnapping. The constant crying probably grated on Floyd's nerves. And I think the confession to his sister was probably how it happened. When Michael refused to say, "I love you," Floyd killed him right there in the bathtub. That was Floyd's MO when he didn't get his way. He'd attack, torture or kill. This time, he killed. |

Any ideas on Michael's biological Father is? Evidently, Suzanne must have met someone else while FDF was locked up.
