Default modern technology

I wonder what the Clampetts reaction would be to all the things that are around today that weren't in the 60s?

I wonder what they would think of todays TV and movies?

I wonder what they would think of STAR TREK? And STAR WARS? And the I.S.S. (International Space Station)?

I wonder what their reaction would be to watching a spacewalk on TV? Or to CNN? Or the show PAWN STARS? Or DUCK DYNASTY? Or THE AMAZING RACE? Or On Demand? Ot Chevy Chase, Will Farrell, Danny DeVito, Adam Sandler and Eddie Murphey? Or SNL? Or Westerns?

clerk: "Madam, those are rubies."
Granny: "OK ask her kin we buy one offa her."
clerk: " The ruby I am talking about is not a lady."
Granny: "Lissen, how she got them diamonds is her business. I'm just sayin' ask her kin we buy one from her."

Cool

Well considering that they thought the TV the Drysdales gave them for Christmas was a washing machine I don't think they would understand modern technology at all!! In fact it would probably be enough to make them run back to their cabin in the hills!!

We sorta get an idea of that in the 1990's movie.

Things were a tad updated. Like the Clampetts knew already what a phone was but didn't know about cordless phones, They knew that television was already. The Clampetts in the movie didn't seem as isolated as the ones in the 60s verion.

Well honestly though I can't imagine the Clampets being as isolated as they were in the 60s version.

I find it hard to believe that in all of Granny's years on Earth she had NEVER seen an airplan or a helicopter fly over, when in the pilot she didn't know what it was.

In TODAYS time I think she would have used one, I mean if she used a regular phone in the 60s I think she would use a cell phone today.

Besides FB would be a good way for her to keep up with how things were back home.
