Heard lots of stuff about the difficulty of casting Newhart another tv wife, glad they went with Mary Frann, it probably would've been a huge mistake to have another tv wife that was too similar to his old show.


Admittedly Mary Frann could play nice and evil, she even did it in the dream sequence for one of the episodes and even dressed as a vampire in the Halloween episode.

I thought Julia Duffy and Micheal Scolari were great too but I feel they overpower Dicks character
