So, what do you think season 30 will be like? What plot lines will it have?

How about the season/series finale? Should they do a multipart episode, each one 15-20 years into the future either showing or referencing the birth of grandchildren, great grandchildren, etc. and the deaths of all the current characters?

Maybe it would end with the boyhood of Bart's Great grandson, barth IV, and set up a spinoff set 70 years into the future. Simpsons 2087 anyone?

Skinner has an affair with the lunch lady. At some point in their relationship the topic of children comes up and she explains she can't have children because she has Turner's syndrome.

Meanwhile, Homer discovers that Maggie has a talent for picking winners in NFL games.

In a continuation of a thread from season 27, Bart once again meets up with his arch nemesis, Bort, who had mysteriously vanished just as the two of them were about to have a confrontation. The two of them exchange insults, but nothing really happens.

Bart then finds out something about Bort that has him rethinking their rivalry.

Meanwhile, Lisa takes up bowling, much to Homer's delight, until she starts outshining him on the lanes.

The promos for this episode state that a character will mysteriously vanish.

Bart fails to come home from school and when the school is contacted in turns out he never showed up in class either. After an extensive search he shows up at the comic book store, where he has been all day.

Just then chief Wiggum shows up and asks where Ralph is. Lisa says that he got a ride home from school with his uncle Robert. Chief Wiggum then states that he doesn't have an uncle Robert.

Quite a hunt ensues, but all that is found is his bloody clothes and a piece paper with nothing on it except "Lisa" and a heart.

The episode ends with a message about the dangers of child abductions and several web links are given.

The episode is praised for calling attention to an important issue, but many long time Simpsons fans complain that the plot was way too serious for a show like The Simpsons and that it contradicts flash forwards which show Ralph alive and well in the future. Some speculate that this will be the beginning of the end and, sure enough, 2 weeks later it is announced that season 30 will be the last.

That would be a fantastic series finale. Good way to go off in style.

Lisa discovers some mysterious stones that have some strange properties. They project a 3 dimensional image that seems to pierce their surface. They also have a calming effect on the person who holds them. she shows them to her classmates who go digging for more and soon the whole school gets in on the act.

When Sherry takes one to her grandmother who seemed to be on the verge of dying, the woman makes a remarkable recovery and says the hasn't felt so good in years. This gets the attention of the local media, and before long the who town is digging up the stones.

The seemingly remarkable healing leads to what is beginning to look like a new cult with Lisa, discoverer of the stones, as its messiah. This goes to Lisa's head and she loses sight of what and who she is, but bigger trouble is just around the corner.

In comparing different stones people notice that some have a pattern that looks like an X and others have pattern that resembles a Z. Soon the cult splits into two rival factions, who argue over the comparative merits of Xs vs Zs.

When a fight breaks out between kids on opposite sides of the issue it spills out onto the streets and several of them are almost run over by a truck. This spurs Marge into action and she convinces Lisa that it is time to stop this nonsense.

At a gathering hastily arranged in the school auditorium Lisa denounces the stones saying "the patterns are nothing but an optical illusion and the stones have no magical powers. If you want to believe in something believe in yourselves and your own abilities."

"But," says comic book guy, "what if that's not enough?"

Lisa is stymied for a moment then Bart rushes up to the podium and announces "Don't have cow man!" and the audience roars with laughter.

Apparently some of them took that remark quite literally , because half the town is wearing T-shirts with the phrase, hot dog sales go through the roof and Krusty Burger goes out of business.
