Music Broadcast History of Bachelor Father

I've heard many different versions of the series history in syndication. I personally lived in Chicago, New England, California and the Washington, DC area since it went off the air. During that time I never saw it on tv. I may not have been paying attention, or had a regular life, etc. But, I never recall seeing it.

Was hoping the folks out there could maybe add their own experiences and help track down its history. From what I know it went into tv black space in June, 1962. Give or take some re-runs. Plus, do we know when it reappeared in today's cable world and started on that circuit. RTV? TV Land? Antenna TV et al.

I also wonder if the cast was in on any residuals. With the stock of 157 episodes you'd think they got something. But, as we all know actors back then had to own their own production company to have a piece of the pie. Hired actors often just got their salary.

Thanks for your help. Maybe we'll be able to solve the mystery of its history on air.

I first saw it on CBN in 1981. It was part of their overnight comedy lineup until 1984 or 85. The entire block was eliminated in '85, but ISTR that Bachelor Father had already been taken off sometime earlier.

You can find it on Antenna TV at around 3 A.M eastern time on the weekdays! Antenna has be narrowing the showing of Bachelor Father recently so either they plan on getting a new series of Bachelor Father shows in the future or they are pulling it off the air!

Antenna TV is now showing it M-F at 4am. It still has its full hour, just an inconvenient viewing time. There's always the DVR though.

Wish it was on a streaming service like Hulu, Amazon, Netflix! Love the show! Of course I watch Leave To Beaver still! I even have the complete DVD set but never watch it on DVD!

I had never even heard of the show until Antenna TV played it. It's a good show. Wish it was on still.
