Why did Karen Austin leave after season 1? Lana was one of my favorite characters, I would have rather seen Selma go.

I don't know, but I believe she was missing from the last couple of episodes of season one.

Yes, she wasn't in the last 3 episodes of season 1.

Okay, I got curious about this so I did a little research. I see several links online that claim that she was fired because she had bell's palsy.

That's terrible firing someone because of an illness. Her acting wasn't affected in any of her episodes I saw.
