I never understand why Kevin was being rude to the nerdy girl from season 2 the episode is called Square Dancing Margaret Farquhar he does not want to be her friend because he is worried what people will think of him being friends with an unpopular girl but this is weird he was friends with Paul and he was an unpopular guy at his school.

Margaret was classed by her peers as very weird and uncool. Kevin was worried about his own reputation and that being seen with her would mean he's a weirdo as well. Once Kevin got to know her a bit he realised the girl was actually a half decent person, but unfortunately the narrow minded opinion of his peers clouded his judgement and he was not nice to Margaret in the end.

I forget the exact wording, but at the end of the episode, the adult Kevin says something like "yeah, maybe I could have been her friend, but the truth is, when you're in 7th grade, you are what other seventh graders say you are". It is too bad that stuff like that happens. Kevin actually did like her, and he even thought he'd solved the problem by telling Margaret that, even though they can't be seen in school talking to each other, they could still be "secret friends". That went over real well. Kevin simply caved to peer pressure. He didn't have the courage to stand up to the other guys. And something else said by the adult Kevin at the end of that episode rings very true... as the camera panned over the pictures of a bunch of kids in the school yearbook, adult-Kevin says "looking back, it's hard to remember the names of all those kids you tried so hard to impress". Then we find out that Margaret turned out to be a very successful Biology Professor and the mother of six (and a friend to bats). That was a great episode. |

Yeah she was attractive the only thing kids did not like about her was her clothes and her eccentric personality which could change if she worked on her herself, secret friends was a insult to her because that mean people cant know they are friends or that she can come over to his house to talk, it turned out that she became successful in her adult life
