Remember the great serials on Saturday. Flash Gordon fighting Ming each week to save the earth. Why doesn't a network bring back this great show ? What an idea for a new series with the right actors ? Who played Ming in the series? Who could play him today? I can see Brittany Spears as Flash Gordon' s girl friend.

The orginial series was made in 1936, 1938 and 1940 for movies. Then they were shown on TV in 50s and 60s. Charles Middleton was MIng.Look him up on Internet. It would make a great series today with Brittany Spears as Dale Arden

You would think American Movie Classics or Turner Classic Movies would show those great old serials. It probably wouldn't cost that much to secure the rights.
I bought a few Flash Gordon serials on tape for my Dad a few yers back, and he loved them. They were his favorite when he was a kid. As far as a remake of the old serials, that would be interesting. If you played up the camp element of the whole concept, yeah it would be great. Off the top of my head, John DeLancie (Q from Star Trek) would make a good Ming... |
