"Freaks and Geeks'" Linda Cardellini Joins "New Girl" as Jess' Sister

"New Girl" is about to go wild! "Freaks and Geeks" alum Linda Cardellini will recur on the Fox comedy as Jess' wild-child sister, Abby, TVGuide.com has confirmed.

As reported by TVGuide.com, Jess' sibling is a troublemaker, and Jess (Zooey Deschanel) will have to bail her out of a big predicament. The actress starts filming later this week, and her first appearance will air in February.

Jess' sister is finally coming to town!

Linda Cardellini will make her debut as troublemaker Abby in next Tuesday's episode of "New Girl" (9/8c, Fox) and TVGuide.com has the exclusive first look.

"She's the opposite of Jess," executive producer Liz Meriwether tells us. "In all the ways that Jess is a good kid and the one who turned out to be a teacher and have her life together, Abby is a total mess and basically a low-level criminal."

Which explains why Abby is sitting behind bars in the photo below. Hopefully Jess (Zooey Deschanel) can spare some money for bail!
